How the online portal works

  • A customer goes to the website and fills out a very confidential form highlighting their legal issues
  • The State Bar reviews the form and matches the information to the attorney whose offices are nearby.
  • The referrals are free. Meeting and consulting the attorney will cost the client $30 for the first 30 minutes session. The charges may vary according to factors such as the Social security, military law, worker’s compensation.
  • After consultation, the client is bound to retain the services of the lawyer.

 

Why the platform was created

Lawyers can scale the delivery of legal services to a higher number of people at lower costs. The LRIS has been referring attorneys for more than 35 years. The recent developments are only meant to reach a wider market through technology. The organization is now handling more than 10,000 phone calls from the public and has a 24-hour online presence.
